Hi everyone,
It’s my fist post, i’m very new to check_mk… although i’m an old user of nagios.
I have setup a new monitor server with omd and check_mk and i have added more than 80 servers, now i have to monitor servers that are located at local network which i can’t access directly from my monitor server.
Which is the best option? And how could i setup this servers? Distributed setup is the best option?

Hi Hector,
you have some options.
→ this only needs one port for the livestatus communication
→ beside the livestatus port you need to configure http/s access to the remote server

I think this is something miss-configured with the proxy settings. Do you setup apache proxy connection to get the graphs from the remote site?
If you work without proxy for the start all should work. But for further diagnosis the complete configuration of your site connections and your apache configuration is needed.

The remote installation will not send information to the central one as in such setups the central one will pull the information if needed.
Inside your OMD site you need to configure the livestatus port.

it is the old setup inside configuration files. The actual version uses WATO for site configuration.

- setup a second server inside the remote network, make all the configuration there on this machine and only forward the livestatus data to your monitoring server.
