I’ve just installed 1.4.0p on Ubuntu 16.04LTS to upgrade my old instance (1.2.4), big changes! I am able to get into the check_mk web interface and set up a host but I cannot change the site password and as such cannot use the console to manage the site.
Can anyone share the secret sauce?
Hey Penny,
To change your password, you should update your user in “/omd/sites//etc/htpasswd” file.

Do you mean that there is a unix system password set for your site user?
You are prompted for a password when you do su ?
If that is the case, then (as root) want to do a “passwd ”
That is how you change a system user password.
