Hi Gang
I feel like a real newbie asking this question but I cant figure it out.
Where do I find the $MK_CONFDIR location. I am attempting to set up an Oracle Monitor and all the doco says I need to place an mk-oracle.cfg file in the $MK_CONFDIR
I have tried to echo $MK_CONFDIR from the command line but I must be doing something wrong as I am not getting a result.
SO Where is this dir?
Is it on the MK Master or is it on the Host being monitored?
Many thanks
Kev
Hi Kev,
Could be different depending on your install options, but it will be on the Check_MK Host.
Best way I know is to check in the /root/.check_mk_setup.conf
All your setup choices are there and that variable is listed, unless you’ve edited this after the fact I believe it should be right.
Regards,
James

Hi Kevin, James,
$MK_CONFDIR - as well as other MK-vars - is set in the agent itself. Open it in editor and you’ll find the variables near the beginning of the code.
If you want to just know what they’re set to you can also execute “check_mk -d REMOTEHOSTNAME” from cmk server (or e.g. “telnet REMOTEHOSTNAME 6556” from anywhere) and will find them shown in output section “<<<check_mk>>>”.

Marcel
