I thought I had checked the host based firewall of a non-working host, but must have only looked at the working ones….
Problem solved.
Thank you!

Hello all,
New to the list and setting up my first Check_MK from scratch.
I want to thank you all in advance for the work in the community!
Problem Description:
My first 4 hosts were added and discovered services perfectly.
The next three hosts added, but the Check_MK agent posted a CRIT stating “ no unmonitored services found, no vanished services
found, [agent] Communication failed: timed out”
When I run a diagnosis on the host, the Agent returns a check and a green window but no other data is present.
The properly working hosts return a check and a green window with lots of system information.
Do you think that means that the agent port TCP 6556 is blocked or is there some other known problem?
I used the same Agent.MSI for the first 2 that did not work as the first 3 that did. Pulled a new Agent.MSI for the third.
1 of the four working properly is the same server OS as the three that are not communicating.
Also a way to test this outside of the UI, is to try and telnet to the host on port 6556 from your monitoring server. This will tell you if the agent port is reachable and returning data.

I had found the telnet check in documentation after posting and working with it was what allowed me to discover my error in regarding the status of the host firewall.
