[Check_mk (english)] "UNKN - Invalid performance data" on Local checks 1.6.0p6 CEE

Hi

My workteam is upgrading from 1.5.0p16 CRE to 1.6.0p6 CEE. The problem is that some local checks running fine in 1.5.0p16 CRE are reported as “Invalid performance data” in 1.6.0.p6.

The error message is

UNKN - Invalid performance data: u’used=28741568;;;;50331648’. Output is: OK

It appears that the string “used=28741568;;;;50331648” is not recognized by the core of the 1.6.0p6 CEE as a valid performance value.

But this string follows the official format as described in
https://checkmk.com/cms_localchecks.html#perfdata

Other local checks not having the colons in their performance data does not report this issue.

I think it is a bug. What do you think?

Best regards

  1. Why own checks? Checkmk already monitors many types of relevant data using a large number of its own standard check plug-ins. Nevertheless, every IT environment is unique, so that often very specialised requirements can arise.

Hi José,

i think i know what the problem is.

Your performance data has only a critical value. Try to output the same value as warning then it should work.

I don’t know why it needs now a warn and crit value but it is working with booth values at my system.

Best regards

Andreas

Sorry wrong answer
Your check has only a maximum value and if you give an maximum value then CheckMK now also needs a minimum.

I don’t know why. With warning and critical it is easier. CheckMK will use the same value for warn if only crit is defined.

Sorry and best regards

Andreas
