[Check_mk (english)] Windows Mount point monitoring

Hi there,

Is anyone monitoring Windows mount points, as for me the check_mk agent(v.1.4.0p37) does not seem to report all mount points.

Check_mk agent output is as follows;-

<<df:sep(9)>>

OSDisk NTFS 1172077564 601715672 570361892 52% C:\

ExVol1 NTFS 629012416 474090688 154921728 76% C:\ExchangeDatabases\DAG-DB02\

ExVol3 NTFS 629012416 503336192 125676224 81% C:\ExchangeDatabases\DAG-DB05\

ExVol5 NTFS 629012416 427472896 201539520 68% C:\ExchangeDatabases\DAG-DB08\

ExVol7 NTFS 629012416 423312384 205700032 68% C:\ExchangeDatabases\DAG-DB11\

ExVol9 NTFS 629012416 388033856 240978560 62% C:\ExchangeDatabases\DAG-DB14\

ExVol11 NTFS 629012416 481433728 147578688 77% C:\ExchangeDatabases\DAG-DB17\

ExVol13 NTFS 629012416 481430208 147582208 77% C:\ExchangeDatabases\DAG-DB20\

ExVol15 NTFS 629012416 407976448 221035968 65% C:\ExchangeDatabases\DAG-DB23\

However the server has the following mount points;-

ExServer ExVol1 C:\ExchangeDatabases\DAG-DB02\ 599.87 147.62 25

ExServer ExVol2 C:\ExchangeDatabases\DAG-DB02\DAG-DB02.log\ 49.87 45.37 91

ExServer ExVol3 C:\ExchangeDatabases\DAG-DB05\ 599.87 119.94 20

ExServer ExVol4 C:\ExchangeDatabases\DAG-DB05\DAG-DB05.log\ 49.87 44.8 90

ExServer ExVol5 C:\ExchangeDatabases\DAG-DB08\ 599.87 192.18 32

ExServer ExVol6 C:\ExchangeDatabases\DAG-DB08\DAG-DB08.log\ 49.87 44.85 90

ExServer ExVol7 C:\ExchangeDatabases\DAG-DB11\ 599.87 196.14 33

ExServer ExVol9 C:\ExchangeDatabases\DAG-DB14\ 599.87 229.81 38

ExServer ExVol10 C:\ExchangeDatabases\DAG-DB14\DAG-DB14.log\ 49.87 44.57 89

ExServer ExVol11 C:\ExchangeDatabases\DAG-DB17\ 599.87 140.73 23

ExServer ExVol12 C:\ExchangeDatabases\DAG-DB17\DAG-DB17.log\ 49.87 44.1 88

ExServer ExVol13 C:\ExchangeDatabases\DAG-DB20\ 599.87 140.48 23

ExServer ExVol14 C:\ExchangeDatabases\DAG-DB20\DAG-DB20.log\ 49.87 41.99 84

ExServer ExVol15 C:\ExchangeDatabases\DAG-DB23\ 599.87 210.74 35

ExServer ExVol16 C:\ExchangeDatabases\DAG-DB23\DAG-DB23.log\ 49.87 45.49 91

It appears that all the mount points with .log in the name are missing

Anyone else seen this before or any idea what is going on here

Cheers

Mark

Hi Mark,

I can only say that my mountpoints from CSVs inside a Hyper-V cluster
are shown correctly.
It could only be that this is a mountpoint inside a mountpoint

best regards

Hi Andreas,

Yes this does appear to be the issue, Check_MK Support have confirmed that recursive mount points are not presently supported. Bit of a shame as this is the standard MS Exchange setup. I have requested that support be added for this scenario in a future agent release.

Thanks

Mark

Hi Mark,

if you have some free time you can try the "next gen" Windows agent
from dev git repo.
http://git.mathias-kettner.de/git/?p=check_mk.git;a=tree;f=agents/wnx;h=03ee4a0fcf9dfc964936351c47f13a487dfb4c30;hb=HEAD
I tested to compile the agent and it was working. As i have no system
with recursive mount points, i cannot test your problem.

Andreas
