CMK version: 2.3
OS version: Red Hat 9
Error message: Deprecated plug-in:
local/lib/check_mk/base/plugins/agent_based/avamar_data_domain.py
This may partially work in Checkmk 2.3.0 but might not work from the next major version onwards.
The plug-in uses APIs which are deprecated or removed in Checkmk 2.3.0, so that this extension will not work anymore once you upgrade your site to next major version.
We highly recommend solving this issue already in your installation either by migrating or removing this plug-in.
Please, I tried to upgrade in a lab environment from Check_MK CEE 2.2 to Check_MK CEE 2.3 and I get all the warning messages alerting about deprecated API calls you see in the error message and in the image attached.
According to the warning message, these plugins “may partially work in Checkmk 2.3.0 but might not work from the next major version onwards.”
Could you please confirm whether it is safe to proceed with the upgrade from 2.2 to 2.3 first and then migrate/adapt these plugins afterwards, without the risk of them immediately breaking in 2.3?
Or do you strongly recommend migrating the plugins to the new API before performing the upgrade to 2.3?
We would like to understand the expected behavior and risk level in 2.3, and whether these warnings are purely informational at this stage or indicate a potential functional impact immediately after the upgrade.
BR
