Check periods: "for active services" vs for "passive Checkmk services"

Is there any reason why rules for check periods are separated in “Check period for active services” and “Check period for passive Checkmk services”?

If the only difference is what type of services they are applied to, wouldn’t be simpler to have only a single “Check period for services” and add a “Scope” option in the rule settings?

That way, in each single rule instance the Scope option could be set to any of:

  • All services
  • Active services only
  • Passive checkmk services only

As it stands now, am I wrong in assuming that to set a check period for all active and passive services of one host , we are forced to create two identical rules?

  • one rule in “Check period for active services”
  • one rule in “Check period for passive Checkmk services”
