Error message: API Error:Decryption of SNMPv3 password failed.

Hello Community,

I am currently trying to integrate one of our Meraki devices into Checkmk via SNMP. On the Meraki portal it states:

“Using SNMP to directly poll individual devices provides the ability to choose between SNMP v1/v2c or v3. Version 3 adds the ability to encrypt the communication between the manager (network management system) and the agent (Meraki device). SNMP v1/v2c sends the community string in plain text. If v3 is selected, you will need to configure a username and password. When using v3, Cisco Meraki devices will use SHA1 for authentication and DES for privacy, with the configured password used for both.”

We are already successfully using SNMPv3 for the devices, so I can actually rule out that it is a Meraki problem.
Despite the correct settings, I keep getting the error message for all tests:

API Error:Decryption of SNMPv3 password failed.

Has anyone already had a problem like this?

Have you made sure that auth-pass and priv-pass are identical?

The problem has actually solved itself. Today, SNMPv3 access worked without any problems.
