If you use “Customize builtin…” for the first time you will get the shortcut in the main menu bar and the “Leave/Enter layout mode” dropdown menu entry.
Have a look at “Customize” - “Dashboards”.
I assume you changed the default dashboard (just delete it to get the builtin back).
