CMK 2.0 netflow integration?

Currently using CMK EE 1.6, monitoring 10K services across 150 hosts. Have been using CMK for many years.

I always supplemented CMK with another tool (ManageEngine NetFlow Analyzer) as I found it lacking in terms of network traffic monitoring. Certainly not as strong as the host/service monitoring, which is second to none.

I read that in CMK 2.0 there will be deep integration with netflow monitoring, what does this mean? I wasn’t able to find much information/documentation around this. Can we pump netflow traffic to the CMK server and it will draw pretty meaningful graphs, break down source/destination connection details, etc?

I would love to have CMK do everything, host/service/deep network monitoring.

The integration will be done with the help of ntop as the utility to collect the flows.

The ntop folks were so nice and extended their APIs for us. You need ntop and Checkmk will access the data from ntop.
Will look like this. Probably with Checkmk 2.0.0b2/b3 it will be available for testing. Happy to get some feedback.

And from the ntop miniconf this year: https://youtu.be/Iucd78bYlew?t=2460

That looks very exciting, looking forward to testing this. Will this work with any edition of ntopng?

Hi @c3rberus

Did you ever manage to try out the integration?

No I have not, we recently upgraded to CMK 2.x. This is on my list of things to try.
