I’d like to line up the VM Usages to the Datastore usage on vmware.
It’s like this request Vcenter Disk Usage - #12 by Charlydt from @Charlydt
answered by @robin.gierse . I did not found the feature request though.
Personally I’m not sure if the storage usage is the solution to my problem. I’d more like to use the filesystem usage information of the os than the usage on the vcenter.
But what I try to achieve is:
So we do have the Datastore usage from Storage or Vcenter (max and use). I’d like to see which vm is using how much of the Datastore.
We do have the data but aligning them is complicated.
I thought it could be easy to get it done with labels… but as always… it’s not as simple as thought.
I had something in mind like that I set a label on the VM / Filesystemservices like vmstorage:v_cht_toolsitops_01 based on the the ESX Datastores but for sure I can only set the label on the ESX Datastare service itself, and not based on the summary if I’m correct.
Then I’d create a graph based on the Datastore usage and max as reference linees and like to get all filesystems with the label vmstorage:v_cht_toolsitops_01 as stacked area.
Has anyone already solved that problem?
