I have an external smtp relayhost I’d like to configure. Looking in the container I see /etc/postfix/main.cf which I can configure and was going to bind a modified copy from outside so the config is maintained across starts.
However - when I do service postfix status inside the container, it’s not running which confused me.
I see there is an -e MAIL_RELAY_HOST flag when running docker - it would really help me if someone could confirm if I need to set that and whether the postfix config for relay should be applied inside the container or outside on the docker host (by which I mean do I install postfix and configure on the host and just set the -e switch in my compose)
