CRC Errors on san switch ports

Hello,

I have a question about the checks of a Brocade SAN switch and the port metric “CRC Errors”. According to the manual page: “The counters CRC errors and Enc-OUT are represented as percentages in relation to the number of received frames” But is this relation valid in a certain time like for example 5s and then re-viewed? Or is the relation to all frames ever?

If the last query results in 10 packets and 1 error you get an error rate of 10%.

If the next query results in 100 packets since the last query and 3 errors you get an error rate of 3%.
