Hello everyone, installing machines to checkmk 2.3.0 I came across problems with Debian 8. First of all there is no xinetd. Is it just that or is it better to give up and leave Debian 8 in the older checkmk 1.6.0. thanks for advice
Are you talking about installing the Checkmk AGENT or SERVER on a debian 8 machine? You know debian 8 support ended 4 years ago right?

thanks, I’m taking about installing checkmk AGENT. I’m familiar with this section of the documentation; I’d like to know what solutions are preferred. I would initially prefer to leave debian 8 in the old checkmk 1.6.0.
You could use an old agent with xinetd, or you use the “legacy” or rather “ssh” mode and simply install the checkmk agent using the shell script:
