In CheckMK 2.3 it’s possible to define defaults for the acknowledgment. You can set a “Default expiration time”:
However the checkbox for “Expire on” isn’t set by default and there’s no setting to enable it:

Well, if you want to acknowledge things and by default have this expire, then you are basically using a downtime. So personally I think you might be headed in the wrong direction.

Don’t know why the other 3 options have an “enable” checkbox, but default expiration time doesn’t.
