Dell Server with "Power Supply Redundancy 1" UNKNOWN

Hello ,
i monitored an Dell IDRAC on an Power Edge Server .
CheckMK shows me an UNKNOWN Service “Power Supply Redundancy 1”, but on the IDRAC himself i cant find any error or Warning .
Both Power Supplys shows green .
I already delete and create the Host new .
I reset already the IDRAC from this Server .
I have another Server which has the same Hardware , but on this Server the “Power Supply Redundancy 1” Service shows green .

Can someone explain it ?

Thanks
Michael

Unknown means here - “I don’t know what is the status”.
It will be important what comes back from the iDRAC as data.

Ok,
You think that the IDRAC himself has an Problem ?

I understand . But the IDRAC on his management Website shows no Errors or Warnings .

Ok, the System is not the newest one .

No - i think the status value for the redundancy is not correct. But this not need to be a real error on the system.

Good Morning ,

Ok, but how can i handle this ?
Have allways an Unknown Warning .

Thanks

It is like the HPE iLO problem at the moment → don’t use SNMP

Running the latest idrac on this host?

Is the power supplies configured for 1+1? (Will run on one power supply if one is down)

If not, power supply redundancy has failed.

This may happen, if the system was purchased with a smaller power supply, and you’ve made enough changes, that the power demand exceeds the capacity of a single power supply.

Good Morning ,

Now i use Redfish and the Problem is gone

Thanks
@andreas-doehler

I must say - at the moment the redundancy check is missing - but this is one of the points on my to-do list.
But you can have a look at the agent output and search the power section.
There should also be information included for the PSU redundancy. It would be nice to see if there is good information or also some stupid things.^^

Ok , thanks for this Info .

I have two additional Questions .

  1. What is the right way to update the Redfish Plugin in checkMK ?
  2. Is it necessary to choose the Option “Enable Sections” under the Rule in the Redfish Compatible Management Controller Rules .

Thanks
Michael

Install the most recent version for your CMK version and activate it.

No - the most recent version has the possibility to define some ignored section.
Before you needed to define something inside the “Enable Sections” if you want to ignore some things. That’s now not needed anymore.

Ok ,
Thanks .
Whats the best way to install the new Version .
uninstall the old Version first ord simply upload the new package and activate this ?

This is what i see in the Moment about the IDRAC Infos from this Server

This one.

looks good - specific redundancy check for PSU is missing as i said.
