it would be nice to have a preferences switch that when enabled shows the “Name” field of the forum account instead of the username.
I would like to show “Robert Sander” instead of r.sander in my posts.

Unfortunately, I could only find a global setting for this, which will affect everyone.
I think, if it is something many people want, we can consider doing the switch?

I changed a setting that shows the name next to the username in posts. What do you think?

I think that in general it might be a good practice to address people by their real names, if they provide them. We do not force people to add their real names during sign-up, so I believe this is not too intrusive.
