Just curious if anyone else has seen this behavior. Every time a teams message goes out, it comes in twice.
Hi @bbinder
This sounds like your notification rule is maybe configured wrong.
Can you share a screenshot of it? (Without your webhook visible!)
Thanks in advance!
Norm
Weird - so it works without dupes if I make this change to the notification area and choose myself only. Is this a teams thing? The same rule works with emails, no problems - only one notification is received, but with teams, I get two.
I guess I don’t understand how to use the notifications then. If I have 10 people or whatever, I don’t want to assign 10 people the notification because it would duplicate that then, yes? It goes to a shared Team via Webhook, so I only need one notification.
Seems like I’d create a single user account and call it “Teams” and assign the rule only to that single user. Then if I had a separate webhook for another teams account, I’d make a new teams account with that webhook and assign it as a user as well?
Then the “real users” don’t need any notifications setup for them since if they’re not using email and only teams, those notifications are already being sent? I guess that’s just me thinking through it since I’ve never used them.
Ok, so basically what I said in my last post. This has been working via creating an actual teams user. You’d associate the teams user account to any of the rules you want to have show up in the team receiving the alert. Just my first time going through it and couldn’t figure out why I got duplicates. Honestly, I still don’t understand why the dupes came in, because even the log states it’s sending one notification, but every single time…two of them appear. I have to associate the rule with just the specific teams account and then it sends it one time. So, I still don’t understand that, but my solution was to just make a Teams user and trigger the notifications that way.
Hello, I am receiving duplicated messages in teams too, even I selected one specific user as you mentioned…
Checkmk shows outgoing notification only once… strange
Haven’t seen that since making my change. Now the Teams stuff all has to get changed anyway. Might just move it to a different service because I’m not a big fan of the Teams notifications.
Exactly. We will ditch teams notifications too
