Hello,
I use checkmk’s HW/SW inventory as one mean to feed our CMDB. Unfortunately, the “VMware ESX via vSphere” integration doesn’t provide network interfaces in HW/SW inventory. That’s why I enabled SNMP to monitor the ESX hosts to get network interfaces in HW/SW inventory. This causes warnings about duplicate services like “CPU utilization”. Is there any way to have both ways of monitoring enabled?
Hi Eric,
you can remove the checks you don´t need with the ruleset “disable or enable sections (SNMP)”.
There you can remove e.g. hr_cpu, hr_fs, hr_mem, hr_ps for the esxi servers.
Another way could be to seperatly monitor the management boards of the and use the hardware inventory of the boards.
Thanks, this solved the problem. I created a rule “disable or enable sections (SNMP)” and disabled snmp_uptime too.

Unfortunately, after disabling the mentioned SNMP sections and re-enabling piggy back data the network interfaces are gone from HW/SW-Inventory.
