Entries in Host- and Service notifications of notifications never set by rules

Hi community!

In Host- and Service notifications view I could find lots of notifications that are not defined by any rule (I checked all rules one by one). Warning events, Unknown events appears in Host- and Service notifications and we never send notifications for Warnings or Unknowns, just for critical.

Why are that entries in that log? Or the call to check-mk-notify involves evaluating against defined notifications rules and always runs even if no notification is triggered?

Another doubt we have, is we don’t set any contact in a notification rule, is it triggered? (We have custom notifications that doesn’t use email or other params)

What you see are the notifications that the monitoring core generates. These are passed to checkmk notify where your notification rules are avaluated.
