In Checkmk 2.2.0, we are encountering a warning issue in the WATO activation page where certain hosts no longer resolve IP addresses. Could you please share if there is a method or configuration rule to exclude VMs that are powered off and placed in downtime from appearing on the WATO activation page?
We typically power off VMs and retain them for a period before their eventual deletion.
Just edit the hosts and set criticality => “do not monitor this host” to retain them and prevent the metrics from being deleted
Checkmk will always resolve hosts during activation so placing a host in downtime etc. will have no effect
You can however create a rule that created dynamic dns lookup meaning the DNS lookup will happened when checkmk talks to the agent and you will no longer see warnings when activating.
