we have got a few new windows servers in our enviroment. After installing the agent and adding it to checkmk we can’t see any services in the discovery.
After some troubleshooting on the server itself the agent seems to be working “fine”.
On the checkmk server i found some cache files in the directory: /omd/sites/sitename/tmp/check_mk/cache/
Here i found a file for the broken server and tried to open it. I only got some “cryptic” informations back. After that i looked into a file for a server with an working agent. Here i got the cleartext agent output.
can you please check if the legacy symmetric encryption can be found somewhere in the config?
The easiest would be to search for an encryption secret in the config files.
Can the Checkmk server retrieve data from the agent, or is the agent working fine locally?
Did you also check if the Windows firewall is enabled in case it is a Windows machine?

Actually we are rolling out the Agent of Version 2.1 and forgot to deactivate the legacy symmetric encryption. Other host with working agent got the passwort over a rule for the correct folder.
After deactivating the encryption the agent is working fine.
