We are currently using Checkmk Enterprise Edition 2.2.0p9 for our infrastructure monitoring.
As per my observation, the availability report does not appear to account for host shutdown periods. Could you please guide us on how we can accurately track host availability, including shutdown durations, in the report?
If these periods are correctly set as downtime for the host it also respects these times inside the report. Or what exactly do you mean with “shutdown durations”?
By “shutdown duration,” I mean that when a specific instance is intentionally shut down—for example, for 20 minutes—that period is not considered as downtime in the availability report.
If downtime periods are configured for the host, and the server goes down during that scheduled period, will that downtime be included in the availability report or excluded from it?
how scheduled downtime are handled. In your case i would select “Exclude scheduled downtimes”. With “Honor …” you will see the downtime inside the report if i remember it correctly, but then not as down but in downtime.
Thank you Andreas for the reply, Could you please advise how to configure downtime so we can assess its impact on the availability report? Currently, I don’t see any difference in the report whether I select “Exclude scheduled downtimes” or “Honor downtime,” as both options show the same availability.
