Host behind NAT, Push-Mode but "unreachable"

CMK version: 2.3.0p12.cce
OS version: Debian 12

Agent is installed on System behind NAT 7 on remote site. I suspected that “push mode” in the cloud version means “all data is sent to the checkmk-server”. Therefor, why do I have to set a hostname for this host! Since the host is on a remote site, it would only be assesible via VPN, DynDNS and/or port forwarding. But we want to monitor only a few hosts on a remote site and don´t want to install a remote checkmk. Are there no possibilities to achieve our goal=? Did we misunderstood the “push mode”? Or did we configured the host wrong?

Host is red and the dashboard says:

Number of services in state OK: 1
Number of services in state WARN: 1

[push-agent] Success, [piggyback] Success (but no data found for this host)
Check_MK Discovery Services unmonitored: 24
Failed to lookup IP address and no explicit IP address configured

I read the docs (very good documentation, btw!!) and googled around, but did not find an answer.

Thanx a lot for help!

Hi Lars,

Therefor, why do I have to set a hostname for this host!

set the “IP Address Family” to “No IP” in regards to your question.

Thank you very much, Simon - that was the solution

I should have checked if there are checkboxes at “IP” … my fault! Everything´s fine now!

For everything else looking for the “direct way”:
