How to adjust thresholds for “Varnish Cache Hit Ratio” check

Hi all,

I’m new here. I’m using Checkmk (Raw edition), and I’m getting alerts for the Varnish Cache Hit Ratio service like this:

58.82% (warn/crit below 70.00%/60.00%)

However, when I go to Setup → Services → Service monitoring rules → Varnish Cache Hit Ratio, there are no rules defined, as shown in the screenshot below.

How is the threshold being triggered? Is this check using hardcoded thresholds in the plugin script?

Can I override them using a rule, even if the UI doesn’t show threshold fields/rules?

Or maybe I’m looking in the wrong place. I would appreciate any insights or best practice for adjusting this.

Thanks!

When there are no rules, defaults are being used. If you want different values, you have to create a rule for that, so just go ahead and do that

Thanks. How do I just disable this Varnish Cache Hit Ratio check?

Never mind, I got it modified. But cannot edit post even though only 2mins since posted.

I raised your trust level

Thanks. Yes I also run a Discourse forum. It’s very challenging with spam. Been using AI to help catch them.

Also, no links allowed for TL0 members. Usually that deters most and for those very few who need to post a hyperlink on their first couple of posts the post is still published so mods can manually :link: anything they tried to link to.
