How to Change Timezone for Checkmk Graphs?

Hello Checkmk Community,

I’m facing an issue with the timezone settings in Checkmk. The graphs and timestamps in my monitoring system are currently displaying the wrong time, and I’m struggling to find where to adjust the timezone settings.

Could someone please guide me on how to change the timezone for the graphs and timestamps in Checkmk? I’m using OMD Checkmk.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Hi @javieralmeida30,
and welcome to the Checkmk forum!

The Checkmk server takes its time and timezone settings from the OS it is running on. That means if your OS got the wrong time, your Checkmk has it too.

You can change the time format in your global settings tho:

The rest it up to you and your OS.

Norm

If you cannot adjust the timezone of the monitoring server you can set the TZ variable in $OMD_ROOT/etc/environment to a timezone of your choice.
Restart the site with omd restart and it will run in this timezone.

Example: TZ=America/Los_Angeles

Sorry for that, but can you please send me the location of Time format in Global settings? I Can’t found it.

Hey @javieralmeida30,

sure. The easiest way is to just search for it in the setup context.

Hi @javieralmeida30

The Time format is just the setting on how you want your time to be displayed.
Can you maybe share what Checkmk version/edition you are using?

Thanks in advance!

Norm

Sure, if I’m not mistaken, it’s this one, 2.0.0p12.

Thanks!

Hi @javieralmeida30
Please consider updating your installation. Version 2.0 is End of Life.

Can you please send me a guide or some documentation on how to do it?

Please use the official documentation.

Update to the latest 2.0.0p38 then to 2.1.0 and then to 2.2.0.

Please create backups first and make sure to read the instructions carefully.

Norm
