How to Fine Tune System Time service notification

HI Team,

Recently we have upgraded checkmk to 2.0, soon after the upgradation we have started getting the notification of System Time service notification. Most of the notification the offset vary between -30.3s to -35.9s…How should I fine tune it such that I dont get such notification.

Mostly the notification is from Windows server.

Hello,

I would check if both the windows and the monitoring hosts get their time by a timeservice (ntp).

The check System Time compares the local time of your monitoring system with the time of the monitored host. So for me you have servers with wrong time settings. If the time of the windows servers differ to much, kerberos (for example) will not work anymore.

If you want to change the monitoring thresholds, you can edit the rule Windows system time offset, but I would recommend to fix the underlying time difference problem.

Hi Mats,

Yes you are right, we have installed Chrony as a NTP Client on checkmk so that it gets the time by NTP.
We already have NTP server in our environment.
Lets see if such emails come now…most of our inbox is filled by System time email
