Ipmitool not discovering harddrives on HP DL380

CMK version:
2.0.0p18
ipmitool 1.8.18
OS version:
RHEL 8.4
Error message:
I can’t seem to discover the harddrives that are attached to the HP raid controller.

While trying to figure out which 9 devices are ignored I ran the commands manually with cmk -D and I get the following

<<<ipmi_discrete:sep(124)>>>
ERROR: 'Unable to Get Channel Cipher Suites
, Unable to Get Channel Cipher Suites
'.

I understand this is an issue with ipmitool 1.8.18 that can be fixed if you can append “-C 3” to the ipmitool command. Is there any way for me to do this?

Output of “cmk --debug -vvn hostname”: (If it is a problem with checks or plugins)

Is there a special reason to use IPMI on HPE iLO interface?
The only reason i can think of is an very old iLO 3 or?

exactly this …

Yes, snmpv3 works and detects fine. I only have 1500+ hosts to convert from our old working shinken install to checkmk across multiple datacenters.

ETA: so I would prefer to use the existing ILO configured stuff instead of having to touch every device and configure snmpv3
