Issue with windows probe

CMK version: **
2.1.0p27.cre
OS version:
Windows Server
Agent Version: 1.2.6p5, OS: windows
Error message:
[agent] Unknown transport protocol: b’(\'CRIT , [piggyback] Success (but no data found for this host), Missing monitoring data for all plugins
WARN** , execution time 0.1 sec

After upgrading to CMK 2.1 (same issue with 2.2) we do get this as an error message.
When issueing a manual
telnet 6556
the expected results are being delivered, and now the probe is available on the dashboard again.

Any idea?

Hi @afassl,

Is there a specific reason to be running on this very old agent build? I would try to upgrade at least to a version that’s >1.6 and see if the issues are still present. Normally the agents are compatible, but with the introduced Agent Controller / TLS Changes and complete rewrite of the Windows agent it could be the case that the 1.2.6 Agent runs into a strange edge case, that causes the message.

I would give it a try.

Looking forward to your reply.
Norm

Hi,

thanks a lot for the quick answer. We are always using the agents being made available on the dashboard (Setup - Agents - Windows). The MSI-packet is version 1.2.6.p5.

I’ll give it a try with 1.6.

Best regards
Andreas

Hm, looks like reinstall of the package resolved the issue. Strange - anyway - case closed
