Issues with lnx_if when upgrading checkmk

CMK version: 2.4.30p
OS version: Ubuntu 22.04

Error message: WARNING: Parsing of section lnx_if failed seems to be my issue when upgrading. We are using proxmox as well.

On 2.4.17p it works fine and it has been for some time now but when I upgraded to 2.4.30p im having issues with the linux interfaces. They are not being detected in the gui and just come up as vanished service unknown state.

It is possible that on your system the “lnx_ip” check was modified. With 2.4.0p19 there was an incompatible change introduced to the system that made all modified network interface checks to break. Please take a look at the installed MKP on your system and update these to the latest version. Also take a look if there are some single files modified.

I disabled all mkp extensions just to verify and I have the same issue. How can I see what single files are modified if any got modified?

On 2.4.0 the only locations you should inspect are under → local/lib/python3/cmk/plugins/ or local/lib/python3/cmk_addons/plugins/

What MKPs where installed on the system and with what version?

I got it working, it was an MKP causing the issue. I upgraded to 2.5 and everything is working now.
