Livestatus field "notes"

Hello,

there is a field “notes” in the output of “lq ‘GET hosts’”. I would like to fill it and use filter with it. But I have not found any ways to populate it.

What I tried:

• etc/check_mk/notes/hosts/*
• Notes URL rule (fills the notes_url field)

Does anybody know how to populate that field?

Oh my young padawan, this is a name I have not heard for a very long time. Host and service notes are created from files in $OMD_ROOT/etc/check_mk/notes/hosts and $OMD_ROOT/etc/check_mk/notes/services. The filename have to match the hostname or service description. The content will then be displayed in that field. This is a very undocumented feature of checkmk.

thanks for your answer. But this is already the thing I have tried. In my testlab I have one host and I have created a note but I don’t see it in livestatus:

OMD[test]:~$ cat etc/check_mk/notes/hosts/localhost
test custom note
OMD[test]:~$ lq "GET hosts\nColumns: host_name notes"
localhost;

In the web I can see it and even multiple notes work. But as far as I have seen the webinterface opens the file directly. For cmc I can’t look into the code and check from which file this notes filed is filled.
Or maybe I’m doing something wrong.
