Monitor Stacking Ports - Aruba HPE 2920 Switch

Hello CheckMK community,

I have a bunch of HPE 2920 aruba switches and noticed in the CheckMK 1.6.0p9 RAW version I cannot see under the recently added host that the stack port shows up as an available “monitored service”.

If I upgrade our CheckMK to a later version would monitoring the stack port on aruba switches be available?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I’m not 100% sure about “stack ports”, but did you follow this approach?
Monitoring your network: Four rules to rule them all | Checkmk (1.6 version)
Network Monitoring with Checkmk: 3 rules to rule them all | Checkmk (2.x version)

If not, just give it a try.

Thank you for the suggestion Alex, I followed that guide earlier setting up the network switches and was only able to monitor the fiber uplink for each one. As it stands now I believe I can’t monitor the stack ports, but monitoring the uplink should suffice for now since this would indicate bigger problems happening between the switch and core.
