Monitoring Cisco UCS X Chassis and Intersight

Hello everyone,

I hope you’re all doing well. I’m facing a challenge while trying to monitor our new Cisco UCS X-Chassis managed through Cisco Intersight. So far, I’ve had no success with the special agent “UCS Bladecenter,” and the chassis cannot be queried via SNMP as they don’t have management IPs. Has anyone had any experience with this?

I would greatly appreciate any feedback, tips, or suggested solutions.

Thank you in advance!

Best regards,
Till

With Intersight it should be possible to create a “IMC Access Policy”.
After this is setup a monitoring access should be possible.
I don’t know if the old API is supported but Redfish should work as this is the protocol used by Intersight.

Thanks for the response. I’ve tried a lot, and the method with the IMC Access Policy in combination with the Redfish API works, but only for the single nodes and not on the chassis. I got an IP for the IFM Modules in the Chassis, but they are not accessible with the API. Any other ideas?

No not at the moment as i have no customer with such a system.

Hi all
We are facing the same challange.
Changing from USC Manager OnPrem to Intersight.
Are there any new findings on this matter?
Thanks and have a awesome weekend

Hi,
We implemented a solution to monitor Intersight via the API. We wrote a PowerShell script using the Intersight SDK, which runs on a script server. The results are then retrieved by Checkmk through the Checkmk agent running on the script server.
