Monitoring Directories for Files on Windows

Hi,

i am having problems monitoring Directories under windows for the existence of files.
We are using Checkmk v2.2p27.
Here are the steps i used to get the directories monitored:

  • create an agent rule for the monitored server “Count, size and age of files” with the to be monitored directory "D:\temp" as include
  • Create a Group Pattern Rule which creates a File Group d_temp with “D:\temp*.*” as include
  • Create an Enforced Service Rule for “Size, age and count of file groups” with the former created File Group and for instance max age of the newest file of 2 minutes

evene if there is no file in this directory checkmk reports 1 file with 4kb size. There is and have to 1 or more subdirectories. is it possible that checkmk counts the directory as a file ?
If yes, how can this be disabled, o that checkmk only watches for files.
one other thing is, that no mater how many files are in this directory, checkmk reports only 1 file.

Are the mentioned Steps correct for monitoring files for their existence ?

Kidn Regards
Frank
