Is the update of the old nagios.3.5.1 is planned to nagios 4.5? Is there any reason to use the old core instead of the new?

At this point, there are no plans to change the Nagios core from version 3 to 4.
It involves quite some work and we currently see little added value with Nagios 4.
Is there a specific reason, why you require this update?
If you want to increase visibility of your request, I recommend putting it on the ideas portal over at https://ideas.checkmk.com. Then the community can make itself heard, if demand is there.
