We have big news for you that we want to share before the Checkmk 2.5 release.
As some of you might have already noticed, we are changing the Checkmk editions. It is more than a renaming – it is a change that comes after deep research and serious work that our product team did in the last months to make the different Checkmk options better suited to your needs.
What is missing in the information, and what may cause confusion in the future, are the edition abbreviations.
I use RAW, which uses in my version the abbreviation cre, which also shows with omd version command: OMD - Open Monitoring Distribution Version 2.4.0p24.cre
If this is Checkmk Community now, I would think the abbreviation will become cce?
But same abbreviation might also be used for Checkmk Cloud?!
When I want to download an edition, it has the new edition names as selection options.
But the actual download link / file still mentions the old names: check-mk-raw-2.4.0p24_0.noble_amd64.deb
Hey @Yggy we didn’t want to break any scripts, that why in the filenames we kept the old names for 2.3 and 2.4
We solve the abbreviations (cce, cre, …) by … getting rid of them.
With the release of Checkmk 2.5, product titles and edition identifiers are changed. The long identifiers (e.g. raw , enterprise ) are changed. The short identifiers (e.g. cre , cee ) are replaced with the long identifiers to reduce the complexity.
We are not changing the service tiers for existing subscriptions. So you can renew your 7k subscription.
We just changed the tier for new customers, so that we can make all service tiers divisible by 30 to show the pricing also as hosts (3000 services ~ 100 hosts, 6000 services ~ 200 hosts..)
Checkmk Pro 6000 costs 3300€. Checkmk Pro 7000 was at 3600€.
750 services and 1 site as always as Andreas said.
Additionally with 2.5.0: Checkmk Pro also gets a free tier with the 750 services and 1 site limitation
