No random password given for login after installation on Ubuntu

Good evening.

I’m new to Checkmk, and have installed it for the first time, to monitor my company’s hosts. I followed the step by step guide, but in the end I did not receive any random passwords for the first login to the web interface. How can I set one up and be able to access the system in order to configure it? Thank you!

Hi @Davdros74 and welcome to the Forum!

You can modify passwords from the command line with htpasswd. Please take a look
at this section of the documentation, which explains the procedure.

Note in case that isn’t clear: You’re supposed to do this as the “SITEUSER” of the site
you just created.

Does this help you to be able to set the cmkadmin password, in order to access the web interface?

Regards,
Thomas
