Hi,
We are doing a name convection migration and we would like to edit the hostname in Check_mk for our hosts but seems that option is not possible and the only way we see is deleting and re-adding it, losing the graphs history.
Is there a way to do this via command line if not possible via the WATO?

Hi @dpombo,
it’s not possible to edit the hostname on the fly because its used as unique identifier. There should be an option to rename the host inside your wato folder depending on your checkmk version used.
This rename function will also keep all your data belonging to the host (e.g. graphs/rrd).
EDIT:
keep in mind, the rename process takes quite some time because it needs to process a lot of data and the monitoring core needs to be restarted within this rename process.
