Notifications emails not sending when Event Console alerts are the trigger

I’m trying to get syslog events to trigger email notifications.

I have the syslog events coming in and we have configured an event console rule which I can confirm as being hit.

However, when we configure the Notification Rule either with Rule IDs or Match Event Comments as the trigger, no emails are being sent?

i think you still need to configure the EC to execute notifications, see
