The Jenkins special agent which feeds the check sends a new label for every Jenkins node.
If I do a manual tabula rasa from Check_MK Discovery the new label is shown correctly,
but if i try to do the same with the rule “periodic service discovery” with the mode tabula rasa, nothing happens. The new label is not recognized. Any other mode is not working either.
without further information about your setup and the rule itself I can’t be sure why the periodic service discovery is not working, but one possability is a mismatching of the rule.
You should definitely recheck if the rule really applies to your host. You can do so by checking the effective parameters of your jenkins node. In the service overview of your host go to host → effective parameters. There will be a section “service discovery rules”, under which you will find the periodic service discovery. Clicking on it will show you the matching rules for your current host.
Independently of the above my recommendation is:
Update to a recent 2.3 version. 2.1 is quite old and it may well be, that it is a bug that has been fixed in the meantime, e.g. this one: Werk #14701: automatic discovery: Fix automatic configuration update.
Another querk of updating to 2.3 is the new and improved periodic service discovery. With 2.3 you can configure the periodic service discovery to update the host labels without doing a tabula_rasa / Remove all and find new:
I think you are spot-on and I should update the version, but I’m dependent on other businesses and topics before I can do this. Other than that I do see a difference in the options in the screenshot you provided than what I see.
Or is this “Custom service configuration update” not activated somewhere on my end ?

this “Custom service configuration update” is the thing I talked about being introduced with Checkmk 2.3. With the screenshot I just wanted to clearify what how it will look like in 2.3
