Ping Proxy or so

Dear Community i have a different question.

I need to check Devices through 30 mpls connections.
Because of reasons i cannot build 30 Satelites so i have to check the devices through the mpls.
Because there is no Arm build of checkMK i cannot build an Cheap way , i need to build an Ping Gateway or something else.
In every of the 30 location is an Rasperry PI , i want to use the PI for an Ping check.
The Ping check should run over the Pi and the results should be located in the CheckMK Instance.

is there any way to build this

you could use check_by_ssh and install the monitoring-plugins on your Raspberry PIs to use check_icmp.
This will work if your CheckMK server reaches all your PIs

thanks , i acutally tests this build , but i need the enterprise version for raspberry pi , i would like to use them as mini satelites .

thanks

CEE on ARM or ARM64 would be nice. Maybe @LaMi can help here?

We get the question over and over again. We then first try to understand what it is being asked for.

Often it is then about playing around in the home setup. It’s nice that Checkmk is also used in such scenarios and works well, but the raw edition is sufficient for that. And there are raspi packages for it.

We also hear about mini-satellites quite often. For this we refer to small Intel-based boards. They might not be as cheap as the raspi, but they are not worlds more expensive.

It is important to understand that maintaining other architectures is not free. One of the things to do is to adapt the software so that it is buildable, but also so that it is scalable and preconfigured to work with such systems. It then goes on to build and test systems that need to be maintained and also concerns support that must be provided.

Mainly because of these considerations, we have not yet created any CEE and CME builds.

I can fully understand your statement, but i think the arm based future will be may more fast !

For Home playground the raw version is the perfect way to learn about CheckMK , btw i love your work !
Because of Managed Service we have bought an licence a few months ago.

There should be a Pi with Intel Chipset in future , we will give it a try.

Thanks for your work

Liebe Grüße ans Team !

Yeah, that can happen. That’s why we keep talking and question the use cases. As soon as we identify a clear and important trend, we consider how to adjust our strategy.
