Pre-scheduled downtime notification

Morning,

I am looking for a way, if possible, to send a heads up notification before a scheduled downtime occurs. When setting up a downtime for a host, or service, you can configure a notification to be emailed to those who will be affected but this seems a redundant as they will already know that there is an issue when they cannot connect to it.

So I am trying to see if there is a way to set up an email notification before the scheduled downtime occurs, I have a warning notification set up when user accounts and certificates are about to expire which would be perfect for what I am trying to do with the downtimes, but as I am still new, I can not figure it out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You can’t send a heads up notification out-of-the-box but you can send a notification when a downtime starts and when it ends.

This can be switched on in the notification rule by activating "Match service event type > Event type “Start or end of planned downtime”.
