Hello everyone,

Empty media supplies do generate a state of OK according to the code:
This check is not configurable, you would have to talk to the check devs to change it.
But isn’t there another service check for the printer supplies?
even if I would prefer the state to change. you could set notifications based on the plugin output. perhaps look at “Match check plugin output” ?
There will be no notification generated if the service does not change its state.
The notification rule only works on generated notifications.
Good morning everyone,
Thank you very much for the feedback!
Does this mean that I definitely cannot be notified by Checkmk in any way when the printer issues the message that the paper is empty?
Can I import Checkmk, Custom MIBS and you can build your own checks from it?
Usually printers have service checks for the input trays where they report the paper availability.
You can set rule Printer Input Units, but possible that doesn’t work if you don’t have a service check for the paper cassette / tray.

Unfortunately not in this case. It is a Canon printer
I tested it this morning with a different printer. With an HP printer, I get the paper cassette back. Not with a Canon printer. There must be some way that I can have a notification sent to me when the Canon has run out of paper in the tray.
