Proxmox VE Error message

Dear reader,

I hope anyone can help me figure this one out, I’m fairly new to CheckMK and tried to add my Proxmox VE server to CheckMK.
I get an error message when I try to add my Proxmox VE: [special_proxmox_ve]: No cached data available

Hope anyone can help me out on this one.

CheckMK Version: Checkmk Raw Edition 2.2.0p1
Proxmox: Virtual Environment 7.4-3

Kind regards,

M.Koster

Without any more information i can only recommend to check from the command line if your user and password is correct.
As a site user you can do a “cmk -D HOSTNAME” where HOSTNAME is the name of the CheckMK object representing your Proxmox system.
There you will see a line starting with Type of agent: and after this on with starting Program:.
This line shows the Proxmox special agent call with all the uses parameters. It must be possible to execute this manually and get some output. If you get here some error then this will help further i hope.

Hi Andreas,

I have solved the problem CheckMK wasn’t able to find my Proxmox VE on it’s hostname.
Solved the issue by putting the hostname and IP in the hosts file on the CheckMK server.

Everything is working fine now.
