Question regarding Windows and Directory Monitoring

A Windows server is functioning as FTP server.
How can I monitor 4 directories (same level from root) for files that are there longer than 1 hour?

MRPE could be an option, but I would much more prefer it to be configured from CheckMK itself by making use of rulesets for Files. Is this possible for Windows hosts? If so HOW can this be done?

Hallo,
use the search and you will find links like this

Hi,
do you use Checkmk RAW oder Enterprise Edition?

Karl

CRE Edition for now, but we may be switching to CEE very soon (awaiting a management decision).

Hi,

1st step:
You have to add your directories/files to the yml file of the checkmk agent. You find the needed information in the example file: WATO > Monitoring agents > Example configuration for Windows agent.
After a restart of the agent and a discovery you should find the new directories/files in monitoring.

2nd step:
Create rules for your directories: “File grouping patterns”

3rd step:
Rediscover - to get the groups into monitoring.

4th step:
Create rules: “Size, age and count of file groups”. And have a look at the “Level conjunctions” option.

Perfect !

Thanks . Much better.
