Read key from Registry of windows

Hello,

I want to modify windows agent to get a value from Key in regedit in windows and put in host information, is for vm to see what host (cluster) is runnig this VM. I don´t know if there is another method better

It´s possible and how ?

yes it’s possible. There’s even an example which is close to what you want to achieve in the documentation:

I have tested this on a few servers, config looked straight forward but no result
I had no extra info in my HW/SW inventory
I also used the registry entries from the documentation, these also gave no extra info

Did anybody had any succes and willing to share ?

For a fast solution: Try to extract the Registry Key with Powershell… if you get the syntax you can create a local check to “inject” the key to the Agent Output. I do not think that HW/SW Inventory can handle single Registry Keys in an easy way…to a local check could became mandatory here.
