Is there any way to create a passive service for a host with the Rest API?
It looks to me only a service-discovery can be done via the Rest API.
If it can’t be done with the Rest API, is there any other way to automate/script adding passive services?
Passive checks are created with a rule in the ruleset “Integrate Nagios plugins” by ommiting the command line for the Nagios plugin.
You would need to edit this ruleset via API, which is available in version 2.1 of checkmk.
