Hello community,

Thank you all for taking part in the survey! We conducted the 11th Micro survey on filters to find out more about how you use them and to identify some usability quick wins.

We found out:

  • Most participants (53%) apply filters several times a day. If they have an environment with more than 99,999 services, it’s even 80% of all participants.
  • Having a lot of filtering options is seen as necessary, but it’s also the biggest pain point for respondents, as the list of possible filters is poorly sorted and it’s hard to find a specific filter.
  • Participants who have been using Checkmk for 5 years or more find it easier to apply filters than participants with less than 5 years of experience (61% vs. 40% rating it as more easy than difficult).

Unfortunately, there are no plans for a major overhaul of the filters at the moment, but as a quick win we will be looking at sorting the filter list alphabetically, and also investigating how much effort it would require to add a search bar.
