Running omd's apache alongside default apache webserver

I installed checkMK in my development machine.
The omd apache webserver runs but i can not reach the website. I wonder if this problem is related to the fact that i have another apache installation running in /etc/apache2. What can i do to make them both working . for testing purposes i stopped the default /etc/apache2 but still i can make the omd apache working. Any suggestion?

The site Apache runs on localhost port 5000 for the first site, 5001 for the second and so on and we typically use the system Apache as a reverse proxy to access the site Apache.
